Cancer
patients receive a quilt to provide emotional and physical warmth
during their cancer treatments. Use your handiwork to brighten a patient’s day as part of The James Stitching Sisters’ “Quilts of Comfort Challenge for 2014”. This year there will be three ways to enter the challenge.
1. Piece-a-pair: piece a top and back (use our kits or cut your own kit from our fabric or your stash). 2. Pick-a-pair: pick a pieced quilt top, backing and binding from those already completed at the sewing center; just add quilting and bind. 3. Make-a-quilt: make an entire quilt (piece, quilt and bind). Use our kits or cut your own kit from our fabric or your stash. A completed quilt should be at least 48 x 60 inches and no larger than 60 x 72 inches, machine or hand-quilted. All supplies (including batting) may be picked up at the sewing center or you may use supplies from your stash. The Quilts of Comfort Challenge will be made up of two separate challenges. There will be one challenge for piece-a-pair (including backing) and one challenge for finished quilts (pick-a-pair or make-a-quilt). Each challenge will have a grand prize. When you return your completed project to the sewing center or bring it to the 2014 Annual Quilt Day, you will be entered in the challenge. Deadline: Quilt Day 2014 - date to be announced Grand Prize: Sewing machine Runner-up Prizes: Lots of wonderful prizes |
